What is the Annotation?
When young babies come into the world and learn to do things, they do so with information taught to them by adults. All apples are shaped slightly differently and have different colors, but babies learn to recognize the features of apples and are able to correctly identify them.
The same is true for AI: in order for it to recognize something, it needs to be told what it is. Annotation is the process of creating data for AI to learn from.
An annotator is a human who processes raw data in the form of audio, images, video, and more to help AI learn.
